Carmi Gillon has many years of experience as an English and Hebrew lecturer. Since his retirement as Head of the Shabak, he has lectured on all five continents (but mostly in the USA and Canada) and naturally also in Israel.
He is well experienced in the media and is in great demand as an interviewee by the TV stations and radio as well as the press in Israel and internationally.
The topic of his lectures is characteristically on security, politics and current affairs.
As someone who, in his career, was personally involved in the Shabak's war against terrorism, political processes with the Palestinians, the Peace process with Jordan and Jewish terrorism, he is considered to have a superlative knowledge regarding the Arab world and the Middle East and Israeli's position therein.
Carmi Gillon is an outstanding speaker who regularly seasons his lectures with personal anecdotes by means of his highly developed sense of humor.
He never uses notes during his speeches, choosing rather to study the composition of participants in his lectures thus conducting the lecture by means of personal contact with the audience on the basis of the thorough preparation he has conducted prior to the lecture.
Carmi Gillon's preferred method of lecturing is to conduct an open discussion with his audience, responding with complete candor to their questions and viewpoints.
Typically he will speak for 30 minutes and thereafter continue on for another 30 minutes of open discussion.
This open discussion will more often than not, depending on the audience, continue for much longer than the allotted 30 minutes.
